The Koshi chime is an
authentic musical instrument. Hand made in a specialist workshop at
the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, each chime is the result of
meticulous craftsmanship and is of the finest quality.
Available
in 4 melodies: Terra, Aqua, Aria and Ignis - inspired by the four
elements. Each has a specific timbre and can be played harmoniously
with all the others.

Eight rods
are welded with silver into the metal plate at the base of the
resonance tube. A circular striker made of a clear synthetic material
is suspended in the centre of the tube, making contact with the metal
rods when the wind catcher is activated by the breeze. The precise
tuning creates wonderful depth of sound and enriches the harmonics.
The
cylinder is made with thin layers of bamboo veneer - a material known
for its acoustic quality and also for its strength. Treated with
natural oil, the end result is a simple yet elegant design.
According
to the manufacturer, Koshi chimes may be placed outside but they should
be in a sheltered spot where they will not get wet e.g. under a porch,
roof overhang etc. We recommend that you
enjoy your Koshi chime by hanging it indoors.
