Concerto chimes do not have any wooden components - the top is of
steel, the wind catcher and chimes are of aluminium which have a
UV-resistant powder-coating to give a rose gold finish which sparkles
subtly in the sunlight. The striker is of a black polymer which
produces soft tones upon contact with the chimes.
The wind catcher is circular, curved to catch the breeze.
The cord from which each tubes hangs is attached to a device
seated
within each tube rather than passing through a pair of holes drilled
into the tube walls: this construction, combined with the thickness of
the metal, allows the metal to resonate for longer. It is also
aesthetically pleasing.
The chime has a robust 'S' hook for ease of hanging.
